Course Memo

Sacramental Ministry and Law (3) This course treats one of the more important institutes of Canon Law, Sacramental Law, found in Book IV of the revised Code of Canon Law. The canons governing the celebration of the Sacraments will be studied in detail and students will learn their relevance to pastoral ministry in a multicultural Church. Special emphasis will be given to the Sacrament of Matrimony, its canonical implications, and the need for pastoral care and preparation for marriage. Students will also receive an introduction to Tribunal procedures and will learn the canons on Sacramentals, the Liturgy of the Hours, and Ecclesiastical Funeral Rites. Prerequisite: CL 513. Fall.
